Why a working name at all

Every guide, roundup and soundtrack feature on this site is written and maintained under one name so that the editorial standard is consistent and there is one place to send a correction. Using a working name keeps the focus on whether a page is right rather than on who wrote it, and it means the standard does not shift depending on whose initials are at the top.

There is no biography here on purpose. No invented career, no list of employers, no photograph, no claimed qualifications. Anything of that sort would be made up, and a site that asks you to trust its credits cannot start by inventing its own.
